Service Interruption due to Power Outage

Dear Customers,

We apologise for the service interruption on Thursday 2nd July 2009 between 11:40am EST and 1:00pm. The problem was caused by a nation-wide power outage which triggered a total loss of power at our co-location facility in Sydney.

As soon as power was restored our engineers were on-site restoring our systems. There was no loss of data, and the service has now been fully restored.

We are awaiting a formal incident report from our co-location provider who is meant to have emergency power systems in place for just such an incident. Clearly things did not work as planned.

We will take the lessons learnt from this incident to see how we can improve our services and make them more reliable in future.

Once again we apologise for the inconvenience caused by this incident.
